First-Time Mama Approved: 4 Nighttime Baby Essentials You’ll Use Daily
Babies don’t come with instruction manuals, especially when it comes to sleep! I seriously wish they did! I spent countless hours researching different bed-time products with my first. “Bedtime Baby must haves”, “Night time Baby Registry Items..”, anything and everything I could get my hands on to look at. Not to mention the opinions I had from every different direction. Let me tell you, there was SO MUCH to look at! It was honestly an overwhelming experience. I remember sitting there after I had put my registry together, and was like “WELL, let's cross our fingers”... In the end, I had a great registry, and was gifted some pretty amazing baby must-haves! But, I always wished I had more guidance. (In a LESS confusing way!) So I’m here for ya, mama! Giving you the 4 best (in my opinion) baby registry ideas for bed time with REAL first hand reviews to help you make the best decision for you and baby, because lets face it, sleep is important… TO EVERYONE!
Snuggle me lounger
THIS PRODUCT RIGHT HERE! This is one of our all-time favorite products. We used it from the night we arrived home from the hospital, until our son was about 4 months old. We loved putting it on the couch next to us while we watched movies, or laid him in it while we cleaned the house, and he slept. All around, this was our go-to. We even would take it with us to family functions for if he needed a quick snooze,
DISCLAIMER: It is not recommended to sleep your child in this unattended. My son was always supervised while he slept in his snuggle me.
Owlet sock
We were very back and forth about spending the money on a heart rate monitor. I had to list out the pros and cons, because knowing myself I would become OBSESSED with watching it. We did decide to go with it, and I am so happy that we did! It is such a peace-of-mind knowing that my son is sleeping soundly & healthily. It is also nice to have if he is sick! There have been a few times where he’s had a bad cough, and knowing we can see his blood-ox level, was great! The Owlet can be a bit expensive, so another great option, that is a little bit more budget friendly is the Eufy smart sock! This one has great reviews, and I know people that have used it, and love it!
Hello Baby Monitor
The HelloBaby monitor is amazing! I love that we don’t NEED to have a Wifi connection to use it. It makes transporting it to other places (like our parents/siblings houses) MUCH EASIER! It has an amazing picture & sound quality. We have never had an issue hearing, or seeing our son! I also love that you can turn the monitor off when it’s in the room with you so you aren’t bothered by the bright light!
As much as we LOVE the HelloBaby monitor, we have realized how HARD it is to leave our little one overnight, and not being able to see him while he’s sleeping (we just obsessively watch his sock ;) ). We have decided that we will be upgrading to the Nanit Pro Smart Baby Monitor for our next baby, so we can obsessively watch BOTH the heart rate monitor AND them at the same time… The owlet also has a great dual option, called the Dream Duo Smart Baby Monitor that has both the camera and the smart sock!
Hatch Sound Machine
This is another one that I was VERY back and forth on! I wasn’t sure If I wanted my baby to become dependent on a sound machine, but it has honestly saved us! He loves it, and it gives him some noise in the room which taught him to sleep through more noise than most babies! I love that the hatch has an option of a bluetooth, and a wifi version. We have the wifi version, and it works PERFECTLY. There is also a portable sound machine that is so cool! This is great for long car rides, or sleepovers where no sound machine is available!
As a first-time mama, these are my MUST HAVES, for getting a good night's sleep in our house! I hope that this has helped calm your mama nerves, and this helps you to create the baby registry of your dreams
